When country boy Noah arrives at the University of Chicago, he meets Adrian, his clean-freak, hot-tempered roommate who constantly indulges him. At first, Noah doesn’t realize that Adrian’s special treatment comes from an intensely possessive love. After a heated argument and a frightening encounter, Noah finally confesses his feelings, and the two begin dating. Despite his traditional family’s disapproval, Adrian follows Noah home for the summer. Over the course of the summer, he gradually wins over the village and Noah’s parents. Under a sky lit by fireworks, Adrian proposes with roses and a ring. Noah says yes, promising to spend the rest of his life with him.
